ONE DAY
Mechrey is a small and unspoiled floating village near Siem Reap that offers a beautiful atmosphere and nature experience. It is a less touristy spot that is easily accessible by driving along road number 6, which takes about 30 minutes (25km). Along the way, you will see charming views of rice paddies, cattle, and farming activities in the rice fields before reaching the boat pier.
Mechrey is a floating community that has developed its tourism industry. A boat cruise through the channel will provide sightseeing opportunities of interesting daily life activities, floating houses, children playing in the water, a floating souvenir shop, crocodiles, and an active Buddhist pagoda. If you continue on the boat cruise, you will reach the Great Lake of Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, which is an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997.
